The comments area has been improved (hopefully!) today. The form has been moved to below the comments (people have emailed me to mention it is inconvenient to move back to the top of a page in order to reply), and a live preview feature has been added, including live previewing of favatars.
I don't know why, yet, but the site appears to be flaking out a little in Firefox. I am working on ironing out these glitches though, so don't worry, normal service (such as it is) will resume soon. (Update - Firefox bug fixed).
Redesign: Comments and Live Preview, by Dave Child, was posted on 03 January 2006 and has not been tagged yet.

Looks great man! Love the way you've done comments. Oh, and grabbing the favicon.ico from the site is a *wonderful* idea and reduced the need for users to have those silly custom avatars (and all the problems that go with them).
Keep up the great work!

Thanks, enygma!
Regarding favatars, by the way, I'll be releasing the code for the favatars / live favatars once I've ironed out any bugs that crop up while the site is being run.
Must get "live commenting" in as well ...

Haha! I managed to post three times...
Anyway, this comment preview is quite fast even on Safari. How did yuo decided to throw out e-mails?
Also, here in Safari, it seems like the Ajax is not pulling my favicon?

Sorry, maratz, but I'm not sure what you mean by "throw out emails"?
I've not yet tested extensively in Safari. I'm going to get everything just right in the big three, and then spend the time on the browsers with smaller share once I'm happy with everything.
That said, your favicon doesn't show in Opera either on the preview. I'll check it out.

It's usually the visitor's e-mail a kind of insurance, a proof that you're dealing with a real person, even though nowadays, with all those smart spammers, it lost it's purpose...

I am loving this layout I have been trying to get corners like that to work for ages, they always seem to go all over the place.

I love the new design! The curves look lovely, and having the favicons as avatars is a brilliant idea.

Hi Dave, it's my first time visit. Great blog you have here, nice theme and nice layout. I found this site by accident (I did not remember how, but it's surely via google.com), I have poking around your blog just to find how to make comment separated from your main post. Unfortunately I did not find it. Dave would you mind to share how you do it, I suppose it is a wordpress powered blog, but correct me if I'm wrong.
Thank's a lot

Hi irawan,
Sorry - this blog is powered by a heavily modified version of bBlog. No idea how you'd separate the two in WP.
