Good article. You learn someting new everyday. After reading this article, I went wrote a simple html page with "" - DTD and then went to the w3c page and used the html validator. It was a very handy tool. It told me how many errors I had and what the errors were. After correcting all of the errors, it informed me that I had valid code and gave me the code for W3C icon to add to my page to show I had used their validator and this was valid code.

There is a typo on the page the DTD xhtml 1.1 Doesn't show.
