You learn someting new everyday.  After reading this article, I went wrote a simple html page with &quot;&lt;!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC &quot;-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN&quot;&gt;&quot; - DTD and then went to the w3c page and used the html validator.  It was a very handy tool.  It told me how many errors I had and what the errors were.
