World of Warcraft Cheat Sheet

The World of Warcraft cheat sheet is designed to be printed on an A4 sheet of paper and live by a WoWer's desk, to make life a bit easier. A description of what is on the cheat sheet follows, or if you are impatient, you can go straight to the full size World of Warcraft cheat sheet.

I am a complete noob (I hate that word, but when in Rome ...) when it comes to World of Warcraft, so please be aware that while this is useful to those starting out (or with bad memories) it may not be so suitable for the extremely experienced.

Emotes

Thumbnail highlighting emotes section. You can moo in World of Warcraft. That's just fantastic. How many other games can you moo in? Not a lot. But there is more - and this section lists those commands. Waving, greeting, insulting, farting and mooing are all here. Many of the commands have duplicates, so those duplicates have been removed for reasons of space (as you can see, there wasn't much room to play with).

Slash Commands

Thumbnail highlighting slash commands sections. Slash commands are important in World of Warcraft (I hear), especially if you want to communicate with other players (and you really should if you aren't yet). These sections list the more useful slash commands, including guild commands, chat commands and more.

Keyboard Shortcuts

Thumbnail highlighting keyboard shortcuts. Movement, targetting and panel display are all controlled with keyboard shortcuts (and mouse, but I get the distinct impression nobody actually uses the mouse for that). As someone who has been playing World of Warcraft since Saturday (and still managed to rack up 14 hours of gametime - is this game going to ruin my life like so many others before?), I can't remember all the shortcuts just yet, so I find it useful to have a quick list of the more important ones handy. And that is what this section is for.

Love the cheatsheet.....except i noticed a small typo....Under "General Commands" for "/logout" it says "Log out of gams" rather than "Log out of game."

Oh, 14 hours... The WoW hardcore players laugh at 14 hours, but it's a good start. I myself have 25+ days played, but there are people with some 100 or more days in just one year. Sick! Where can I get a "WoW Ruined My Life" T-Shirt? ... Anyone?

Starting WoW, eh? Is it going to ruin your life? Without a doubt! ;)

I had to break free from the game, but it was fun while it lasted. It's like any other addiction - even hearing about it makes me want to play again and I haven't played in 2 months. Best of luck. And I hope you're playing on a PvP server!

thank god it's not me... i have been played wow now almost 3 months... and i'm still lvl 38 and all r making fun of me couse they get to lvl 60 in few weeks in maxium ... i know wht guy who broke up with his wife couse of wow :) he will love tht shirt :D

Have played wow for some time now but i still think this will come in handy.
This is perfect for us "noobs" (as if experienced players never were noobs). Now Im going to try each emote and highlight the ones I see using most.

And yeah, I've been playing too for 1 and half month and am only lv26. I cant really see the sense in playing 'till you drop dead.

Thanks for this cheat sheet :P Some of the more obscure emotes I still tend to forget (like /grovel, or /nosepick) - despite having played nearly 100 days myself, with all characters combined...

Anyway, please don't take teh_wisdom_itself's language as an example of how people in WoW speak, it's just the UBAR-1337 ones that do so. We tend to not have those in our guild :)

yea i love wow its a great game i have a 60 druid and am te ank for my guild for all you noos out there i suggest starting with n easier class such as druid warrior maybe rouge and pali but stay of from mageor warlock and hunter til you get used to the game and choose easy proffessions when i started i made the mistake of using the two hardest proffesions enchanting and taloring really hard for noob

You cannot use cheats with WoW without having your account canceled. Play it the way it was meant to be played or find another game.

There are no "cheat codes" with online games. Most are elaborate programs that are against the User Agreement.

I got WoW about 5 months ago and have had several different characters before settling for my Night Elf Priest. I have levelled her up to 32 in about a week, and I think I lost that 'thing' called a social life with it :D No. My partner plays the game with me via router which is great fun, and he finds it very difficult to stop playing when I ask him to do something. Like, change the bin.

Conclusion: An addictive game and rocky relationship!

I have ben on wow for a little over a year, i have an lvl 60 Mage. The game is very addicting and very fun. I dont think that you really need any "cheats" for the game. If anything you just need to learn more about the game and stop trying the easy way out.

There seems to be a little confusion about what this "cheat sheet" actually is. It's not for cheating, it's for quick reference. "Quick Reference Sheet" might be a better name, but I've always called them "Cheat Sheets".

Nice, but if you're strapped for space, why list chathelp and ghelp twice (once in General Commands and once in Guild/Chat Commands)?
Remove those from the General Commands and you have space to add 2 other, e.g. /script and /macro :)

Guy's and gals there is no cheats in wow, there is strategy guids and so on. I have a 60 rogue and i think it took me... 17days played time ( sumting liek that), they are a fairly slow class to lvl, hunters are the fastes so if wanting to lvl fast hit the hunters...AND what you talking about pwning horde... i see most lvl 60 allies on my Realm ( Crushridge) dont have a clue how to pvp and its a pvp server... Even warriors With full wrath 0.o

We put your blog on our guild resource page... and I think its handy even for us macro using lunatic WoW addicts. We also have a link to "txtmsg" style dictionary for our "older" guild members (I am one). Thanks for the handy "Crib Sheet"!

These are not cheats, ... they are emotes. Read the fck manual.
Well, there are cheats, but they're not to be found here. This is a reference to existing legitimate stuff.

You are missing a very handy little trick.

I you ever have your session get weird, you know you have. Stuff not working, you can't click or move type stuff. You can run a command to "reload" your session without having to logout. type "/console reloadui" It takes about 10 seconds and then you are back and 9 times out of 10 your game works again.

Hey Dave,
I know this may be an easy one that a lot of people overlook playing WoW that you may want to post. A player can type /e followed by whatever you want to say in an emote it will appear like an emote only starting with your character name. So say your avatar's name is Dave and you typed "/e laughs at the Murloc fighters". Then the chat display will look like an emote with the words, "Dave laughs at the Murloc Fighters".

I know it's an easy one be I run across a lot players who don't know it and always ask me how I know so many emotes when I really don't ;) And don't worry because we're all noobs once then we're addicted and just lacking sleep and neglecting our real lives. Thanks for the cheat sheet and I can't wait for the .pdf version.

(Ye Shall Be a\As Gods) is the guild I am in, ysondra, the Server. I am a Night Elf Hunter lvl 46 at the moment. I have been playing for about 3 months now, do to the fact that I do have a life outside of WOW. In the last week I have played BG, and I have gain 4400 honor points w/ over 1600 kills. I kill lvl 55 rogus and druids, like butter and have no troubles with caster or warriors. I am not trying to bragg, but I am saying this, and I haven't cheated, but I am saying this. if you cheat that is find, but when you can't cheat no more, than no matter what, you will get owned. You see, it is the ones that play the right way that learn their chars and learn how to play, they are the ones you can't beat. So cheat all you want, then ones that earned your ranks and lvls are the ones you will lose to.

Their the ones that the cheaters will lose to. Say for instance you have someone build you a lvl 70, or you buy a lvl 70, you do not know how to play that char, why, cause you bought it that way, so have fun, and cheat, please.

either u have to start paying (after the 10 day trial) or u have a software problem.. Wow has a issue with Windows Vista. how ever if u have xp no problem..If there is still a problem i suggest un install the software & reloaded it & then try to log back on to WOW.. KEEP IN MIND!! BLIZZARD(owners of WOW) needs to update there software on YOUR PC.. u will see the "Blizzard Downloader" read the directions & DO NOT TURN OFF OR INTERRUPT THE PROCESS.. if u do it will crash your WOW program..

Excellent Cheat Sheet Dave. I've been playing (casually) for 4 months now. One thing that I've noticed is that Horde work better as a team than Alliance. Whether it's PvP, BG or raiding this is the simple truth. Alliance are greedy and tend to look out for #1 (themselves). For all the simpletons out there....THERE ARE NO CHEATS FOR WOW!!!!

It's surprising that more games don't publish useful content that helps you actually play the game. Blizzard did an ok job, but I've been playing online games for years now and I've seen that in every game, there seems to be certain commands, interface options, etc, that aren't known or used except by gamers that have been around for six months and then had some cuss them out and incredulously ask something like "What?! you don't have a pulling macro or an assist key?!" - sometimes, even the top websites for these games don't tell gamers what they're missing because they're too bussy covering the news with exciting topics like, "The CEO speaks at blah about blah, ooh!"

An excellent example of this is the ability to resize your game rendering window in Everquest. Nobody but nobody knew this, but whenever I told someone how to do it so they could make more space for macro buttons, etc., they'd be instantly converted because it made a better gamer out of them. (Essentially, it allowed you to sacrifice world view for UI view, which meant you could suddenly have about 3-4 chat boxes for dedicated channels. One for raid chat, one for guild, one for healers chat during raids, one for officer chat, etc.) When we started raiding the stuff that requires real skill, we also needed to adapt our user interfaces to the same way the top 10% of players played that game. We learned and investigated every slash command systematically and posted guides in the forums. For some of the stuff we discovered, we had the only guides online in existence, but it was stuff we'd never want to live without.

Pff the game is great thats all to it. STOP TRYING TO FIND EASY WAY OUT. Youll enjoy the game when your going thru it.

hey i have been playing wow for like about 1 ear and love it so much i have a problem through i have a lvl 70 night elf hunter rogue druid human lvl 70 warrior and paly a lvl 70 gnome warlock and mage. they r the best in the game i think. they all have all epic gear and most have over 10k health. but enough about me if u whant to have some real fun just type /camp

hey riss if u whant to lvl just do quests and kill stuff.there r no cheats in wow no way possible just fun stuff to do. if ur still not satisfyed do a couple of instances they rule.

i can bearly read this, maby if you can make it better i can read it better.
Useful tool - but as others have commented it doesn't always print well - needs to be converted to PDF!

How about one for builging macros in WoW? Macros can be very complicated but extremely useful and a macro "cheat sheet" would be a God-send!

by the way - don't you wish you just called this a "reference guide" or something - most people who have found this page seemed to have been searchign for "CHEAT WARCRAFT" !!

and i havent dedicated all of my free time to it, u guys just need to PAY ATTENTION and TRY to be good
i would also like to say that i have a life... gf, school, and friends
dont get hoked on it... makes everyones lives better if u just played it when u had free time rather then u becomeing a freak
